Respect Sh*t Up of the Day: After their national team defeated Denmark during last year’s World Cup, Japanese soccer fans took to the streets of Tokyo to celebrate.

Being that this is Japan, the “hooligans” politely moved to the sidewalk every time the traffic light turned green, and resumed their celebration only after ensuring the light was red.

in the west the police attempting to guide the crowd off the streets would have resulted in riots and looting. being respectful doesn’t downplay joy or excitement, or even discontent. yet why does every time a crowd get together does all shit break lose?
